P.S. 83

Students

Activities & Clubs

School events, celebrations, music and theater, and student clubs — the many ways P.S. 83 students learn, create, and build community together all year long.

At P.S. 83 Luis Muñoz Rivera, learning extends well beyond the classroom. Through assemblies, field trips, performances, and clubs, our students build strong relationships, explore their interests, and develop a real sense of belonging. We celebrate the diverse cultures of our community — including the vibrant heritage of El Barrio — and give every child a chance to shine.

A safe and inclusive community

Public School 83, in alignment with the NYC Department of Education, is committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

We strive to ensure all students are free from harassment, intimidation, bullying, and discrimination based on actual or perceived race, color, citizenship or immigration status, religion, creed, national origin, disability, ethnicity, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, or weight.

Kindness Week

During Kindness Week, students fill our hallways with their own words about empathy, respect, and caring for one another.

Celebrating El Barrio

Public School 83 proudly reflects a rich diversity of cultures. Located in the heart of Spanish Harlem — also known as El Barrio — our school community celebrates this vibrant heritage every day.

During Hispanic Heritage celebrations, our students share their cultures through their own work, including projects created by our 3rd grade.
